You will be received at the Paro International Airport (2200 meters above sea level).
Travel to Thimphu (2300m).
In the afternoon, visit to National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma Stupa, Takin (the national animal) Park, Bhutan Post Office to have printed personal stamps, and the Thimphu Tashichhodzong.
Overnight at Hotel Aman (or similar)
Hike to Chagri Monastery (2850m) in the first half of the day.
After lunch, walk in town and watch Bhutanese national game, Archery.
Overnight at Hotel Aman(or similar)
Hike to Dodeydra monastery (3000m) which is over 3 hours.
En route, have a clear and breath-taking view of Thimphu valley.
Evening, have a respite by meditating with the monks.
Overnight at monastery
Hike back to Thimphu and depart for Punakha.
On the way, stop at Dochula Pass (3150m) to visit Druk Wangyal Chortens.
Next stop is at Chimi Lhakhang which is better known as the temple of fertility.
Overnight at Six Senses (or similar)
Visit to the majestic Punakha Dzong (1200m) and the longest suspension bridge.
Travel to Phobjikha (3000m), the place known for hosting the endangered Black-Necked Cranes as its winter habitat.
Also visit the iconic Gangtey Goenpa—the seat of revered Peling Branch of Vajrayana Buddhism.
Hike through the Nature Trail in the evening.
Overnight at Homestay
Leave Phobjikha for Paro valley.
En route, visit Semtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong in Bhutan.
In the afternoon, have an orientation tour along the Paro Street.
Overnight at Six Senses (or similar)
Hike for Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery (2900m), which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery built in 8th century by Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master).
Also, visit Kyichu Lhakhang – one of Bhutan’s oldest and most beautiful temples, and Drugyel Dzong if time permits.
In Bhutan, there is a saying that a journey that begins must end. Thus, your journey to Bhutan comes to an end today. We will see you off at Paro International Airport.
